Vision, mission, values

Yale-Griffin PRC Director David Katz, MD, eloquently shared that overall

“the general public lacks clear and consistent advice about the role of lifestyle medicine in promoting health. He says too many competing voices, capitalist-driven motives, and conflicting messages in the media have left many people confused about how best to improve their health.”

From ancient wisdom, modern science and longevity hotspots around the world will now know irrefutably that 80% of all chronic non-communicable diseases can be prevented simply by adopting a healthy lifestyle, nourished by abundant natural environments. And for those living with a communicable disease or dysfunction, the human body’s biological reserve and adaptive processes are far beyond anything we have yet come to understand, which inspires hope for us all to live a rich life, full of experience and low on regrets.

In the modern era, we have a “social dilemma” where the social impact of good intentions has been hijacked by the monetization and behavioral manipulation of all people. We hope to use this solutions-based platform on a foundation of humane technology, where technology is wielded as a tool and force for good. Even inspiring you to disconnect from this “virtual reality”, enabling and empowering you to live into the richness of the reality we all share. We designed this ecosystem to develop clear and simple advice and information so that every day people like you can embody this wisdom into your own self empowered human experience, igniting the human potential available in all of us.
SelfCare Ecosystem | Human & Nature | All Connected as One

Our hope is to sift through all the noise, misinformation, misdiagnoses, BS, fake news, and hidden agendas so that you can embody healthy lifestyle choices today, with a deep sense of trust to share it with the people you care about. We hope to share multiple perspectives and truth’s so that you can come to your own self-realizations in your own time, from mentors who show you where to look but never tell you what to see. We simply want to remind you that you have never needed to be fixed, simply nourished, supported, and connected on your own unique path.

We will do this in a unique way. We will measure the value of the content and information we share by the positive social impact it has on the world and the solutions it provides for your life, and in the lives of the people, you care about most.

We stand for simplicity as the ultimate mastery

A number of great minds, from Albert Einstein to Dikran Marsupial and even Richard Freyman said a similar thing — “If you can’t explain it simply enough to a six-year-old, then the truth is that you don’t yet know it well enough yourself.” So, here’s our six-year-old version of the truth.

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.” ― E.F. Schumacher

We stand to be an empowering reminder, not another guru that takes your power away.

The rising billions mission of SelfCare (c), Is to remind people that they have never needed to be fixed, simply nourished.

We stand against this harsh truth.

Today, 19 in 20 people do not live free of disease or dysfunction.

Just one in 20 people worldwide (4·3%) had no health problems in 2013, with a third of the world’s population (2·3 billion individuals) experiencing more than five ailments, according to a major new analysis from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2013, published in The Lancet.

We stand against the 2020 accepted “normal”.

1 in 2 people that we care about are currently living with a preventable dis-ease or dysfunction according to the World Health Organisation; that’s nearly 4 billion people.

The leading specialist in preventive medicine Dr. David Katz draws upon the latest scientific evidence and decades of clinical experience to explain how we can slash our risk of every major chronic disease—heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, dementia, and obesity—by an astounding 80%. By simply making better daily lifestyle choices, living in nourishing natural environments and being part of empowering communities.

We stand to be part of the solution, in a measurable & meaningful way.

We hope to be part of the solution,  by empowering the rising billion/s to move up the health & wellbeing spectrum, away from dis-ease and dysfunctions towards good health and even longevity by 2030 in line with UN sustainable development goals; Igniting a global self-care revolution, founded on global blue zone communities, thriving together as one.

“You are not simply the sum total of the genes you were born with,” writes Deepak Chopra and Rudy Tanzi. “You are the user and controller of your genes, the author of your biological story. No prospect in self-care is more exciting.”

We stand for a human and nature-centric approach, connected as one. Overcoming the illusion of separation.

We can all agree that nature is our primary life support system. Consider the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the sun and everything else in between nourishes our survival together.

Dr Jane Goodall acknowledged that the explosive development of the human brain gives humankind a capacity to do things far beyond the capacity of even the most intelligent animal. She noted that only humans have the intelligence to send a spaceship to Mars and then remotely control a motorized vehicle to explore the surface.

However, she asked the most important question of our time;

“Isn’t it peculiar that this most intellectual creature to ever walk the planet is destroying its only home?”

Industrial and technological revolutions have accelerated us towards a cliff and 6th mass extinction. In the last 500 million years, life has had to recover from five catastrophic blows. Are humans dealing the planet a sixth?

Consider when your parents were born. In the last 50 years, just their lifetime. The Earth has experienced a biodiversity crisis. Recent estimates suggest that we are heading towards the 6th mass extinction. We threaten up to a million species of plants and animals, in large part because of our human activities such as deforestation, hunting, and overfishing. Plus our daily consumer choices that feed into these industries. Other serious threats include the spread of invasive species and diseases from human trade, as well as pollution and human-caused climate change. We are the problem.

Global wildlife populations are set to have fallen by more than two thirds on 1970 levels by the end of the decade, conservationists warn. By 2020, populations of vertebrate species could have fallen by 67 per cent over a 50-year period unless action is taken to reverse the damaging impacts of human activity.

We are the problem & the solution.
To give this perspective. Consider that without water, humans can survive between 3 – 40days. Taking into account amazing survival stories and extreme circumstances.

However, how long could we survive in the absence of even one seemingly small insect?

Albert Einstein predicted that “If bees disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to live.”

We need to nourish nature and nature will continue to nourish us and future generations.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” –  Alexander Den Heijer

We stand to De-centralise Healthcare, SelfCare and Social impact. One person, one community at a time.

Our intention is to De-centralize the health and wellbeing space, utilising blockchain technology and empowering systems that remind people that each of us is the driver, not the passenger to their own human experience and potential. The keys are in your hands.

As consumers, employers, health plans, and governments continue to demand better affordability and personalization of health care, disruption and decentralization of health care will accelerate, according to a new report from the Center for Health Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley. Think of it as the next phase in the evolution of the health care system from a single – payer – to an open source system. SelfCare is an open source ecosystem based on blockchain technology. Let’s build the future together.

We stand for each person taking radical responsibility for their human potential, their human vessel and their unique human experience.

SelfCare is about putting your oxygen mask on to first Survive, in order to fill your own health and wellbeing cup, so that you can give and serve from energetic overflow.

“SelfCare is not selfish. We have all felt what it is like to serve from an empty cup. Fill your cup daily and serve from abundant overflow. Creating a ripple effect of positive change and inter-generational impact!”– Rory Callaghan

We stand for Thrival, not just Survival.

Thrival is about filling your own cup, your own human vessel and then putting the oxygen mask on someone else. WE <> ME.

“The power of community to create health is far greater than any physician, clinic or hospital.” Dr Mark Hyman

We stand for co-creation and a community-based approach, unique to each geographical context and culture.

It took a village to nourish you as a child, it will take a community to heal the sick and working together as one to thrive. Co-creating a world that our future generations will be proud of, where we all plant trees that we may never sit under. This is SelfCare. Our living legacy. A circular and shared economy of energy that is a win for all, not just for some.

“A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.” Desmond Tutu

We stand for the zero-sum approach & a world that is a WIN for all, not just for some.

Buckminster Fuller’s initial concept was to create a game of logistics that accurately simulated world resources and helped participants figure out a means of sharing them in the most equitable fashion possible.

Fuller took Cold War logic and flipped the zero-sum approach, creating a game where “everyone must win.” The goal, as he put it was to:

“Make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offence or the disadvantage of anyone.” – Buckminster Fuller

This is SelfCare; We Me One.

Our intention is to empower you on your own personal journey, merging ancient wisdom with a modern existence so that you too can be happy, healthy, connected and living towards a unified and sustainable existence for all.

Good health and well-being for all humans, at all ages, regardless of geography, race, religion or luck of birthright. It is a human right for all of us, not just for some us. We hope to be part of the solution, empowering the rising billion to move up the health spectrum, away from dis-ease and dysfunctions towards good health and even longevity by 2030. By igniting a global selfcare revolution, founded on global blue zone communities.

  • Be the change you wish to see in the world
  • Co-create global blue zone communities
  • Remind people that they don’t need to be fixed
  • Ignite our human potential and innate biological wisdom available to all of us
  • We are feeling beings that think; feel more happiness, bliss & joy
  • Connect the dots forward, merging ancient wisdom with a modern world
  • Keep it super simple
  • Be authentic, brutally honest, and vulnerable
  • Focus on WE, thriving together as one
  • Promote active empowerment, not passive care
  • Learn, do, embody, inspire & share

To ignite your human potential & empower your human experience. Through a personalized, integrated, functional and holistic approach health, happiness and connection in a unified and sustainable world whilst reducing the burden of chronic preventable disease for future generations.

My personal mission is to promote health happiness and connection in a unified and sustainable world. Selfcare is about empowering each of us (me included) to look after ourselves so that others may never need to. It is a human, nature and spiritual approach that unlocks our human potential and empowers each of us to optimise our human experience

in our own unique way. Having an impact and creating an intergenerational ripple effect of positive change is a natural outcome when we each learn to fill our own cup daily, learning to serve from overflow. The future is abundant. There is enough for all of us. Let’s learn to thrive together as one, sharing and circulating life’s abundance so that we create a world that is a win for all.

— Rory Callaghan

Rory Callaghan

Rory Callaghan grew up with a desire to help others but soon found himself as a health professional without his health.

He decided to create #SelfCare as a platform to firstly help people help themselves, then impact and empower them to help those they care about most. Together we can help people wake up, raise consciousness, and create a world that is sustainable, where people work towards being Happy, Healthy, and Connected. His war is on the perception of separation we have been conditioned to see in ourselves, with others, and the world we live in. It is all one in the same.

It started with WE, then ME, then WE  as ONE.

So, live your legacy, connect, co-create and enjoy the ride. No one gets out alive!

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” – Hunter S Thompson

We didn’t get here alone.

We think we are the centre of the universe, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Imagine if every child saw the earth from outer space. What would that do?

Albert Einstein believes that “A mind, once expanded by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions’.

Let’s explore the idea of unity and togetherness. SelfCare is just about going first!
